Its unique geographical position has lent itself historically to a plethora of cultural influences over the centuries, ranging from Byzantine to Venetian to British. In terms of recent history, it is because of its size and location that it does not have mass tourism that flock to neighboring islands. Though Paxos is a popular destination on international and European travel markets, it still manages to maintain an off-the-map feel, secluded and full of charm. Paxos is an island of endless olive groves and Anti Paxos one large vineyard.

In the beautifully preserved Old Town of Corfu, a UNESCO world heritage site, Renaissance, Baroque and Classical “repertoire” came to be successfully applied to local artistic traditions. Palaces, fortresses, austere public buildings of the Venetian rule uniquely blend with lines of drying washing in tiny alleyways and small secluded squares. Strolling through a complex of narrow cobbled streets with stairways and vaulted passages, the so called “kantounia”, will make you feel as if you’ve travelled to Genoa or Naples.

Day 7: Proceed from Corfu to Saranda which is a town and municipality in Vlore County, southern Albania. It is one of the most important tourist attractions of the Albanian Riviera which is because it is so convenient to both Greece and Italy, and therefore it’s simple to visit all three countries during the same trip. During warm months there are hydrofoil ferries that travel twice a day between Corfu (Greek: Kerkyra) and Saranda, thereafter travel to Kotor in Montenegro.

Day 8: Explore Kotor which is a coastal town in Montenegro. Located along one of world’s most beautiful bays in Kotor, a city of traders and famous sailors, with many stories to tell.
