Its picturesque nautical setting has earned it the title, “the Pearl of the South”. The unique culture in Cienfuegos is attributed to its ancestry as a French enclave.

Day 3: Proceed to Casilda Trinidad; this small port lies about 30nm south east of Cienfuegos on the southern coast of Cuba. Casilda is the commercial/fishing port for the town of Trinidad. The port is off limits for cruisers; however the marina here offers reasonable berthing for yachts. It is a convenient place to stop in order to visit Trinidad. Trinidad is a UNESCO World Heritage site. A meticulously well-preserved Spanish colonial city, with its rich architecture, cobblestone streets, palaces and plazas, it is sometimes referred to as the “museum city of Cuba”. There will be stops for visits to local artists and home studios, the Museum Romantic or the Architecture Museum. After lunch, we will drive to the nearby Sugar mills Valley (Valley de los Ingenious) also a UNESCO World Heritage site.

Day 4: Travel to Cayo Largo which is a natural paradise where you can feel a little like Robinson Crusoe on a deserted remote island far away from everything. This tiny island is located in the Caribbean Sea. An almost virgin island for people who like nature and are looking for a noncommercial quiet place away from mass tourism. Cayo Largo is unique in many ways.

Day 5: Explore Maria La Gorda, Cuba’s Diving Paradise. Maria La Gorda is a dive resort conceived and maintained for the diving community, Everything and everyone at the hotels, bars and resort area, live, speak and breathe diving – 24/7. Basically, when you say Maria La Gorda in Cuba, everyone immediately thinks “Diving”.

Day 6: Havana, the capital of Cuba, is the largest city in the Caribbean, and one of the most culturally rich urban centers in the world. The city’s appreciation of its glorious colonial past is on display at a dizzying array of castles, cathedrals, mansions and museums. The historic neighborhood of Vieja Habana (Old Havana) is a fascinating UNESCO World Heritage site, with over 900 landmarks, including the Presidential Palace and Cathedral Square.

Day 7: Havana, explore the history treasured in Havana, culture is celebrated, shared and exuberantly enjoyed here. Cuba’s love of music and dance spills out in clubs, cabarets and impromptu street-side salsas. The city boasts some of the world’s best ballet schools and dance companies, and its theatre community is unrivaled in the Caribbean. There are lively film and comedy clubs, art galleries that range from the electic (along the pedestrian-friendly Calle Obispo) to the expansive (Museum Nacional de Bella’s Arts) and bookstores everywhere. Havana is a city that both inspires and reverse its writers, poets and philosophers. No wonder luminaries such as Ernest Hemingway and Federico Garcia Lorca put down roots here.
